Lygus hesperus mass monitoring kit -1 Month Coverage

Use the Lygus hesperus Mass Monitoring Kit as part of a field monitoring or push-pull programme.

For push-pull use, apply Lybolty within the crop as the push component at a rate of 400 Lybolty units per hectare, equivalent to 162 units per acre.

Place the Lygus hesperus pheromone traps with lures around the crop perimeter as the pull component.

Recommended trap spacing:

• Low pest pressure: 20m spacing, approximately 65ft
  
• High pest pressure: 10m spacing, approximately 32ft
  

Install traps at the start of spring stem elongation and flowering. Deploy before the first generation appears and maintain monitoring throughout the season.

Trap Installation

Secure each trap to a vertical stick placed at ground level.

Position the trap so it sits at the same height as the crop canopy.

Trap Assembly

Align the left and right holes of the red dry glue board trap.

Insert the green ties through both sides and fasten securely to form the cylindrical trap shape.

Lure Installation

Remove the pheromone lure from its packaging.

Use the green wire to suspend the lure inside the trap, ensuring it hangs downward with the tip positioned in the centre of the trap.

Replace pheromone lures every 4 weeks and replace traps every 2–3 weeks. Remove old pheromone dispensers and dispose of them away from the mass monitoring area.

Store unused traps, lures and ties in their original packaging and keep out of reach of children and pets.
